| Kindergarten Music Classes
"Symphony Sprouts " & "Young Musicians Program"
Ages: 4-8
This class offers younger children the chance to physically hold and play musical instruments. They learn musical terms, notation, theory and ear training along side their parent in a fun "circle-time" atmosphere. They will have a ball of fun, grooving to music, swaying like swans or stomping like dinosaurs to Strauss or Sousa. As children progress from the basics, we can grow into playing stringed and woodwind instruments!
You and your children will be taken on a musical adventure every time you come to class. You will learn, right beside your child, all about the amazing world of music. You will be able to watch your child experience joy through learning about music notes and rhythms. You can watch their confidence build as they learn how to conduct and be a "leader." You can help them to be a part of a handbell choir and learn the basics of a piano keyboard. We'll learn to feel music, sharpen our co-ordination and listening skills needed for all types of learning.
If you and your child would like to take the next step, after 10 weeks, we will offer additional Suzuki violin, viola and cello lessons as an outgrowth of our "Young Musicians Program." If you and your child do not wish to take this step, you can continue to sign up for 5 week sessions of more musical adventures. There is absolutely no obligation to take the additional Suzuki course.
Our two year "Young Musicians" curriculum will keep you and your child plenty busy until they begin 3rd grade.
